



ORSI-KA
The Bangalore Chapter of the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI), founded by late Prof. B.G.Raghavendra, started functioning at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore from August 31, 1988. Based on the minutes of 2019 ORSI Central Council Meeting and the 2019-AGM held at Ahmedabad during Dec. 2019, the ORSI Bangalore Chapter registered as an independent professional society in the name of ORSI-Karnataka (ORSI-KA) and obtained PAN for filing the income tax directly by ORSI-KA. The Management Committee of ORSI-Bangalore Chapter continue as the Management Committee of ORSI-KA since its registration. As per the policy taken by ORSI-KA, as on 31st December 2024, the entire members of ORSI-Bangalore Chapter automatically became the members of ORSI-KA. Accordingly, it has 3 Corporate Members, 5 Fellow Members, 146 Life Members.
Out of many chapters of ORSI existing across the country, ORSI-KA is one of the most active professional society. Since its inception, it is actively promoting the OR education by spreading knowledge among the user communities in India and by offering paid internships in the name of Prof B.G.Raghavendra and Prof Ravi Ravindra for the all the deserving undergraduate / postgraduate / doctoral / post doctoral students.
